A bristled bloom of devotion, Blessed Thistle is the herb of holy bitterness—clearing stagnation, stirring the liver, and awakening the body’s sacred flow.

Once revered in medieval monastic gardens and prescribed by herbalists as a cure for “melancholy of the womb,” Blessed Thistle was believed to be a gift from heaven—hence its name. It was traditionally used to purify the blood, stimulate bile, and support milk flow in nursing mothers. Though its taste is sharp and austere, its medicine is purposeful and profoundly cleansing.

This herb has long been used to strengthen digestion, lift the spirits, and invigorate the liver and reproductive systems, especially in women. A classic bitter tonic, it was often used to move what had become stuck—whether physical, emotional, or energetic.
